I wake up and go to out to the terrace overlooking lake and mountains and woods of pines and spruces. It is early, I love getting up before everyone else and be there when the sun comes up.
I move down to the big, wooden kitchen my wife personally designed to her taste and prepare myself the best coffee money can buy, with fresh beans coming from Colombia and a coffee beans toaster. Getting the best fresh fruit from a bowl filled with any common and exotic fruit I can think of.
The kitchen has a massive glass window overlooking the same lake and mountains and pines I could see from the terrace on the floor above.
My laptop is standing just there, on the massive bar of the kitchen and I open it up while sipping my freshly brewed coffee and munching on snippets of avocado.
The desktop is clean, without any icons clutter and with the picture of my family, smiley and together playing at the swimming pool in our garden.
I briefly have a look at the news and to my inbox, where 10 unread messages are waiting for me.
One of these messages is the statement of the earnings of the day before and that is the first one I open, with a nice 2000$ commissions on my daily sales. I am happy, grateful, energized and thankful.
Other messages are from customers and even friends thanking me for the value that their relationship with me has given them, thanks to the products and services they purchased from me.
A customer invites me to play golf with them in the afternoon while a friend invites me and family to dinner.
Then a message from collaborators and partners, reporting on their activities, asking for advice and for some time to connect during the day.
A message still from my personal assistant, a splendid and motivated individual who is able to do everything that I am not, clearly organizing and preparing my working agenda of the day, week and month.
It’s still 6.30 in the morning and I feel energized to start the day with some exercise and run in the woods around the villa. The air is calm, a nice chilly temperature with a clear sky who’s turning from deep blue to light turquoise, with stripes of yellow and red. I inhale deeply and go for my run, no music, no noise other than the bird chirping, my feet cracking the casual small branch on the ground until I reach the limit of the wood, where I can admire the openness of the lake and mountains, with the village just beneath.
I get back to the villa, fully charged, and ready for some extra fresh orange juice and coffee, with my wife in there having the same thought for herself before the kids wake up.
Revitalizing shower, comfortable, modern and casually elegant clothing for the day and I go wake my kids up and prepare their breakfast with them.
I stay with them until the school bus picks them up.
I kiss my wife who’s on her way to her busy day and I go to my big living, studio room, a luminous, wood covered space with a few sofas, a fireplace and libraries; and a big desk with 3 big screens on it, with a nice a nd comfortable chair behind.
I turn my laptop on again and start working on my daily agenda.
Checking results of previous day, running some analysis on trends and products and customers and outlining a strategy with next steps to improve or introduce new ideas and activities or great products.
I am in Switzerland and work on this until 10 before I see that one of my partners living in London is online.
We had on the agenda to review our strategy ideas before lunch so we connect via Zoom and greet each other and have a laugh at the great results we see from our products. Then we get to the discussions, share our ideas and analysis and define the best strategy for our next steps.
Once we’re done with it, I send the notes and recording of the session to our assistant to lay out an activities plan from our discussions, that we can review at the end of the day.
It’s lunch time and I go pick up my wife and take her for a light meal on the lake.
The golf appointment is at 3pm so I still have some time before that and call up my PA to verify that everything is clear from my notes. It is and the action plan to review will be ready by end of day. Great! If you need me, just call me!
And I am on my way to the golf course, where I meet a new customer who has taken su much pride and value from the coaching and material that I have sold him, that he does not see me as a salesperson or consultant, but like an advisor and friend.
We play golf in a wonderful course in a beautiful day and I realize I need some more practice and lessons…
We have fun and manage to have a great conversation about what his plans are and what my plans are, so we decide to set up a meeting for the coming week for us to catch up and more formally discuss collaboration and next steps. It feels just great, I am doing something that is making a difference.
I am home by 6.30pm and can see from the messages that the action plan is ready for me to review.
Shower, then we go to dinner at our friends place in the village. Lovely friends living like I was before them, not taking advantage of the digital life and living the employees life. I don’t judge, but convince Mark (we were former colleagues, before I decided to take life my own way) to have a conversation in my office (my home!) to discuss what I, what HE can do to help himself get a new, better lifestyle.
I am home by 10.30pm the kids are both already asleep in the car (a nice and comfy Bentley SUV) and my wife and I take them upstairs to their beds.
I want to spend some time with my wife before going to bed, so I spend 30 mins reviewing the action plan I received. I make some notes and draft a message, with the idea to re-review and send in the morning.
Then I go down to the living room, where my wife is waiting in front of the crackling fireplace with two glasses of nice red wine.
We talk about our day and share our feelings. The rest is none of your business… until the next day!
